In New York City there is never a quiet moment: always a siren on a speeding car or a cackling hyena or a drunk harpsichordist. Due to the constant noise we were having a lot of trouble getting background sounds of kids playing.
I told my good friend P.R. Frank about our troubles and he offered to work on gathering the sounds in a calmer locale. P.R. knew just where to find that elusive quiet spot, and simultaneously discovered a method of making his fellow NYC crew understand jealousy in a whole new way. Doesn't that look peaceful? I can't wait to hear what he comes up with.

Josiah has reached the deadline and we are taking the next step forward... to Chicago! Jon Guerra is a musician and composer that James has been raving about for a long time now, so I was delighted when he agreed to join the production. He will write some melodic parts atop what Josiah has already created, as well as work to really shape the music to the film so that it feels like one, adding transitions between scenes and writing in flourishes to accent particularly important moments. Then James will go in and do live recordings of a few of the instruments in order to give it a real texture, and add dynamics to the sound that a computer can't create. First up, another old friend from Stivers School for the Arts, Ian Baggette on bass! It's so much fun to be able to come back together on a creative project, with only a few years since our school days, and see (and hear) how much we've all built upon those foundations.
