One of the toughest weeks yet was leading up to my trip to Chicago, where I would get to finally hear the music on proper speakers and 5.1 surround sound! I think it was probably one of the most difficult weeks for James as well, as we were both working day and night to get the film into shape for our first film festival deadline. I left Adam Miller and Eric Rothman back in Brooklyn in about the same state, feverishly compositing for Falling Up. When I finally arrived at the studio, I was a bit outside myself from exhaustion and nerves. I have to say though, hearing james' final music mix was nothing I could have prepared for. It simply blew me away. I had only heard a few of the live instrument rerecords to this point, and having them all in the mix was a little like sitting in a grand music hall listening to a professional symphony play for you alone. This was my movie.
